Ivy Grace
7 guests, 4 bedrooms, 4 beds, 2 baths
Ivy Grace is a beautifully renovated 1924 Bungalow in the heart of the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana. We’ve personified this home as a distinguished dame - an art collector, book lover, travel enthusiast, neophyte gardener, and hostess of the neighborhood soirees. She may long for her speakeasy days of the 1930s, but she is a caterpillar turned butterfly in her recent reincarnation.
Ivy Grace the perfect place for parents visiting their college-age children, a girl’s weekend retreat, work retreat, or anyone looking for a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of a walkable and inclusive neighborhood.

Garage turned studio. This was the caterpillar of the house and now our favorite indoor-outdoor space. Complete with Soul Cycle bike, The Mirror to stream workouts, and his and her swings. The pistachio concrete sink doubles as extra entertaining space when the garage door is open.

This newly renovated kitchen is small but mighty - fully stocked with Nespresso maker, beautiful green glass and tableware.

This peaceful primary suite has a king size canopy bed, luxury linens by Quince and Parachute, and blackout shades for a restful slumber. Art work by Thomas Allen. Vintage dresser.

This queen guest bedroom has everything you need. Tastefully decorated with vintage abstract art in softer tones.

This day bed invites afternoon naps. It's also a single bed if you need to sleep a 7th in a pinch. Can double as an office as well with pull down writer's desk.

Primary bathroom has walk-in marble shower, dual sinks, and luxury bath products.

This cozy corner is the best of summer looks and winter feels. With the gas fireplace on, you can snuggle for hours with a good book.

This cheerfully designed king suite is a fun mixture of vintage finds in orange, green, and cream. It reminds me of summer even during a cold Indy winter. The gallery art wall are all vintage finds from Midland Antiques here in Indy, a favorite treasure hunting spot.

This cozy nook in the guest bedroom is all vintage. Artwork found on Chairish. The lamp is one of a pair, found on different treasure hunting trips. That never happens!

The new pergola with motorized screens and louvered ceiling beats the heat. Sofa, Roly Poly Chairs and pistachio colored stool. Not in scene is matching pistachio Weber charcoal grill. Everything tastes better on a barbie.

Caldwell Green is my favorite Benjamin Moore color. It inspired the green throughout the house.

This driveway yard duo are grass pavers complete with fountain, ivy fence, and Ivy Grace neon sign. Yes, we have to mow our driveway.

Outdoor entertaining haven. Pull up the studio door and you can have indoor/outdoor entertaining. The best is swinging on that swing on a rainy day.

Indoor-outdoor living. Peaceful retreat.

Full view of the studio which duals as an orangerie in the winter without the oranges.

Front view of Ivy Grace. She's 100 years old!

Ivy Grace—Details

Pistachio concrete sink from Concretti Designs with brushed gold faucet with Etsy painted wood knobs to match. IKEA cabinets. Add some new gold legs found on Etsy and voila! You have custom-looking built-ins.

Vintage swan with an India Hicks necklace found during a trip to Harbor Island, Bahamas.

The plate collage above might be my favorite piece of art but don't tell the others. Shhh! I found it this Dutch-inspired one on Chairish, by a lovely couple who quit their day jobs and moved to Amsterdam. My dream. Collection of teapots. More is more...

This orange reminds me of a Louis Vuitton box. It gives me joy everytime I pull it down to work. Calder and Miro vintage finds to the right, with modern high gloss white framing by Jeanne Easter Conservation here in Indy. She's a hoot!

Mixture of green vintage green glass. More is more is more...

The swing was a last minute decision when we realized how much height we gained by vaulting the studio ceiling and lowering the floor for my partner's F350 that has never been parked in this space much to his chagrin. You can't have a bad day when you have a swing in your house. And no, not 50 shades of green.

This book nook with Dr. Seuss plaque, "Oh, the places you'll go" was inspired by our neighborhood kiddos waiting for the bus. We refill it with children's books on a monthly basis. The dog is a bench. She even has her own dog tag, "Ivy Grace. If lost, call 123-READ."
“In town just for a night but could have stayed much longer! Place is adorable. Close to campus and fun decor!”
